Frequently asked questions about Beds

Solid wood beds consist entirely of glued pieces of real wood throughout - without veneer, pressboard or plastic cladding. This not only gives them a special quality and stability, but also ensures a pleasant room climate. Solid wood is breathable, regulates humidity and brings natural warmth into the bedroom. Over time, it develops an individual patina, is easy to maintain and can even be repaired if necessary. This makes solid wood beds particularly durable and sustainable - ideal for anyone who values naturalness, functionality and timeless design.

Solid wood beds are considered to be particularly durable - often for decades. Thanks to their sturdy construction and high-quality materials, they can easily withstand daily wear and tear. Small signs of wear such as scratches or pressure marks can be easily sanded and re-oiled so that the bed looks well-maintained even after many years. With the right care, a solid wood bed will accompany you for a lifetime - and is therefore not only a sustainable but also an economically sensible investment.

Our solid wood beds are designed to be compatible with standard slatted frames.

For design reasons, the Schöneberg bed only works with sprung slatted frames (not roller frames), which must be a total of 8 mm smaller than the inside dimensions.

The insertion depth is the distance from the top edge of the bed frame to the support surface for the slatted frame. The insertion depth is indicated on all our beds - on many models it can even be individually adjusted during assembly. If you subtract the insertion depth from the total height of your mattress and slatted frame, you will know how far the mattress protrudes from the bed frame.

The less it protrudes, the more discreet and straightforward the bed looks. The more it protrudes, the higher the sitting and lying surface will be - this can be more comfortable.

A good guideline: the mattress should sink about halfway into the frame. With platform beds, it lies almost flush with the frame without slipping.

Holistically ecological

Since our foundation, ecological action has been part of our DNA. We think sustainability through the entire product cycle. See for yourself.
