What should you look for when buying storage beds?
The name gives it away: A storage bed provides more usable space in the bedroom. At the same time, the solid beds with storage space prove their very own sense of aesthetics. Choose from different storage options to suit your taste.
Beds with classic bed drawers offer additional space below the lying surface. For example, unused blankets and bed linen can be stored there. Additional storage space, for example for books, is found in storage beds with integrated shelves. The shelves are usually integrated into the frame or the headboard of the bed.
The right position is what counts
Important when buying a storage bed is the position of the drawers or shelf units on the bed. In which direction can the bed drawers be opened? Are the shelves located at the foot or headboard? In order to avoid unpleasant surprises, you should therefore consider beforehand how you want to position your bed in the room.
This ensures that you can make good use of your new sleeping place and especially the extra storage space. Not sure how you want to furnish your bedroom? Mattresses need air to breathe
Did you know that we lose a lot of sweat in our sleep - on average about a liter a day? The mattress absorbs a large part of it. That makes it all the more important that the mattress is well ventilated. This is the only way that moisture can escape to the outside, creating a healthy bed climate.
With many storage beds with bed base, ventilation from below is only possible to a limited extent. Logical: where air can normally circulate, the drawers including contents are located. In the Schöneberg model, the drawers are positioned centrally under the bed. This allows enough air to reach the mattress from the front and back - ensuring ventilation. With other storage beds, such as the bed drawer, simply open the drawers now and then.

The floating Design bed Luke is also made of solid pine wood, glazed white and can be used with any slatted frame. In addition to its durability, the storage bed also convinces with its timeless, Scandinavian-inspired design. Several compartments are integrated into the frame of the solid wood bed, providing extra usable space.

Our model Schöneberg 3 is a high quality storage bed made of solid wild oak. You can order the floating bed with one or two drawers. The bed drawers run on castors and have bevelled sides. Thus they merge optically into a unit with the frame and are hardly noticeable.
Typical for wild oak is the vivid grain, which is characterised by knotholes and a wide range of colours. Please note that the storage bed Schöneberg is not suitable for all types of slatted frames for constructional reasons: Do not use a rollaway bed frame and instead choose a slatted bed frame with a sprung frame.
