Mattresses need room to breathe

Did you know that we lose quite a bit of sweat while sleeping – on average about one liter per night? Most of it is absorbed by the mattress. That’s why good ventilation is crucial – it allows moisture to evaporate and creates a healthy sleep environment.

With many storage beds, ventilation from underneath is limited. That makes sense: where air would normally circulate, there are now drawers and contents. In the Schöneberg model, the drawers are centered under the bed, allowing airflow from the front and back – ensuring proper ventilation. With other storage beds, like the Lade model, simply open the drawers occasionally to allow air to circulate.

When choosing a mattress for your storage bed, it’s best to avoid spring mattresses due to their higher ventilation needs. Instead, opt for latex or cold foam mattresses.
