• 240x200 cm – Ideal for two adults and one child (2x 120 cm mattresses)
• 270x200 cm – For four people using 3x 90 cm or 1x 180 cm + 1x 90 cm mattresses
• 280x200 cm – For example, using 1x 140 cm + 1x 160 cm mattresses
• 300x200 cm – Maximum space with 1x 180 cm + 1x 120 cm mattresses

Many other combinations are also possible.

If you’re co-sleeping with two kids, a minimum width of 240 cm is recommended. But your personal space preference matters most – so if you like it extra roomy, consider 270 cm wide family beds.

Your choice of mattress should also match your family’s needs: use individual narrow mattresses or a combination of one large and one small mattress. This depends on whether you prefer different firmness levels or want to avoid the gap between two mattresses.

What Else Should You Know?

To make sure everyone sleeps comfortably, clarify a few points beforehand: Who sleeps where? What type of mattress suits you? If there’s no bed rail, adults should sleep on the outer sides. However, rails can also be added later with ease.

If you’re sleeping with an infant in your bed, a firm mattress is a safe choice. It helps keep your baby in a stable position during the night and prevents parents from sinking in too deeply, reducing the risk of accidental rolling.
