Natural latex mattresses are made primarily from the sap of the rubber tree. Different manufacturers use varying formulations and certified materials. Natural latex offers point elasticity, moulds to the body’s contours and can help ensure an ergonomic sleeping position – regardless of your preferred sleeping position.

Due to its material structure, natural latex is considered particularly durable. When used correctly, a natural latex mattress can last for around 10 to 15 years. In independent product tests, natural latex models regularly achieve good ratings.

One potential drawback is the higher weight, which makes the mattress slightly harder to turn. Furthermore, natural latex mattresses are often more expensive than many conventional foam mattresses. However, when used correctly, they can have a long lifespan.

Longevity depends on the material and how well the mattress is looked after.

Natural latex mattresses are considered to retain their shape well due to their elastic resilience. Depending on use and care, they can last for 10 to 15 years.

Regular flipping, rotating and good ventilation can help to preserve the material’s properties for as long as possible.

Spring-loaded slatted bases can also increase the durability of mattresses, as they take the strain off the mattress.

Many natural latex mattresses are made from a blend of natural and synthetic latex. Depending on the manufacturer’s specifications, such products may also be labelled as ‘natural latex mattresses’, provided they contain a certain proportion of natural latex.

Mattresses with a core made of 100% natural latex consist exclusively of natural latex without any synthetic latex content. The raw material is extracted from the sap of the rubber tree – a renewable natural resource.
