Our furniture is made in close collaboration with specialized partner companies in Germany and other EU countries—primarily in Poland, Belgium, Portugal, and Denmark.

All of our manufacturers meet strict European environmental and social standards. Regional production not only allows us to ensure the highest quality and fair working conditions, but also reduces CO₂ emissions from transport and enables us to respond flexibly to feedback.

This keeps our distances short – and our standards high.

In addition to the statutory warranty, ekomia offers an extended production warranty of 3 years on all products.

Furthermore, we provide you with lifetime support in obtaining screws or spare parts at fair conditions, as far as this is possible.

At ekomia, you will find both off-the-shelf products and custom-made furniture.

Custom-made products can be identified by the label "Custom" and a clear indication on the respective product page.

We offer a 30-day return policy on all off-the-shelf products, which exceeds the statutory cancellation period – we cover the return shipping costs.

Custom-made products, on the other hand, are made especially for you and offer hundreds of configuration options. These are not subject to the right of withdrawal, as they are produced individually according to your specifications.

To ensure that you can still order with confidence, we do everything we can to give you a realistic impression in advance – for example, through our showroom, material samples, or personal consultation. Of course, our extended warranty also applies here, so you can be sure of receiving a flawless product.

You can experience most of our products in person at our showroom in Berlin. Alternatively, we would be happy to send you material samples so that you can assess the color and feel of the materials in your own home—after all, pictures often don't do them justice.

You also have the option of booking a video appointment: we will guide you through the showroom via video conference and show you the furniture in detail.

We believe that good customer service is one of our strengths. We usually respond to emails on the same day during business hours—our inbox is usually empty by the end of the day.

You can also reach us by phone or chat during our office hours—we are happy to help.

Our delivery times vary depending on the product and shipping country.

The exact delivery time is clearly stated for each product. When you select your shipping country via our navigation bar, you will see the delivery times for your delivery address.

Items in stock are usually handed over to the parcel service within 1–2 business days.

We hand over goods in stock to our shipping company once a week.

If a product is in production, the latest delivery date will also be displayed on the product page.

Custom-made products require more time as they are made individually for you.

Our furniture is available exclusively from us through direct sales—without any middlemen.

This allows us to offer you very fair prices for our high-quality products.

We believe in clear, round prices and generally do not offer discounts. Instead, we calculate our products to be permanently affordable and transparent from the start.

All prices in the shop are displayed including VAT. When you select your shipping country in the navigation bar, the prices are automatically adjusted to include the country-specific VAT.

You can pay with Mastercard, Visa, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna Sofort, or bank transfer.

If you choose to pay in advance, you will receive an email with the transfer details. We will process your order as soon as the full amount has been received in our account. Please transfer the total amount to the following account after receiving the order confirmation:

As a smaller company, we require full payment before delivery. If a serial product is currently in production, you can also order it with advance payment without paying immediately. As soon as the goods are ready for shipment, we will proactively contact you for payment processing and delivery.

Delivery

We ship package-eligible products with DHL or DPD.

Shipping goods are usually delivered by two people via DHL Home Delivery to the point of use.

For particularly heavy or large shipments, we reserve the right to commission a specialized shipping company—in this case, delivery will also be made to the point of use.

If you are on vacation at the time of delivery, simply leave us a note during the ordering process.

We will then plan the delivery so that you receive your order either before or after your vacation.

For shipping deliveries, the shipping company will always contact you by phone to arrange a delivery date with you. If you are unable to accept delivery on the proposed date, the goods can be stored free of charge at the shipping company for up to two weeks.

You can order directly from our shop to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

For deliveries to other European countries, please send us an enquiry – we will provide you with a customized quote, as shipping costs can vary greatly depending on the destination.

Deliveries to islands are usually possible, but the responsible island shipping company usually charges an additional fee.

If you are unsure, simply ask us – we will be happy to help you.

Shipping costs vary depending on the value of your shopping cart and the country of delivery.

You will find an overview of the costs on each product page.

🇨🇭 For deliveries to Switzerland, we charge Swiss VAT and customs duties – you do not have to pay anything extra upon delivery. If you would like to export an ekomia product to Switzerland yourself, we will be happy to send you an export certificate that you can have stamped by customs. If you return this certificate to us, we will refund the German VAT.

Some ekomia furniture is delivered pre-assembled, while other pieces are designed for self-assembly.

All products are designed so that you can easily assemble them yourself without any prior knowledge. Detailed assembly instructions are included.

Each product page contains information on whether assembly is required, how complicated it is, and what tools you will need. You can also view the relevant instructions there in advance.

Our furniture delivery service can assemble your order on the day of delivery in Germany for an additional fee upon request. You can add assembly to your order during the ordering process.

For larger orders or more complex assembly, we may call on our experienced network of independent furniture assemblers. In this case, delivery and assembly will take place on separate dates – a procedure that has proven very successful in terms of ensuring the best possible assembly quality.

Please contact us in advance so that we can plan the right assembly solution for you.

Important: Please check the assembly immediately after completion and report any defects to the assembler as soon as possible.

If there are any problems, we will of course be happy to help you resolve them.

Overview of assembly costs per shopping cart value for Germany:

  • up to 1.999 € → 100 €
  • from 2.000 € → 200 €
  • from 3.000 € → 300 €
  • from 4.000 € → 400 €
  • from 5.000 € → 500 €

We offer professional disposal of old furniture and mattresses upon delivery in Germany.

Important: The “old for new” principle applies – this means that for every piece of furniture or mattress delivered, a corresponding old item can be handed over.

Examples:

  • You order a mattress → we dispose of your old mattress
  • You order a wardrobe → we take your old wardrobe with us

Please note:

  • Items such as beds and wardrobes must be dismantled and ready for collection.
  • They must be wrapped in plastic – you can use the packaging from the new mattress.

You can add disposal as an optional extra during the ordering process.

💡 Tip: Consider offering your old furniture for sale in classified ads – it may find a new home.

Returns & Complaints

Yes – we offer a 30-day return policy on our off-the-shelf products if you are not satisfied with them. We will cover the return shipping costs.

Custom-made products are manufactured individually according to your specifications and are therefore excluded from the right of return. These can be identified by the label “Custom” and a clear note on the product page.

To ensure that you can order custom-made furniture with confidence, we offer material samples, personal advice, and the opportunity to experience our furniture in our showroom. Of course, our extended warranty also applies here, so you can be sure that you will receive a flawless product.

Just send us a quick message – we will accept returns of serial products without giving a reason.

However, we would appreciate honest feedback so that we can continue to improve our products.

  • Returns that can be sent by parcel: You will receive a return label (usually from DHL) by email. You can give the parcel to the DHL delivery driver or drop it off at a DHL parcel shop.
  • Shipping goods: The shipping company will pick up the goods from you and contact you by phone to arrange a date – as with the delivery.

Important: You are responsible for ensuring that the goods are returned safely. Please pack the goods carefully – ideally in the original box.

For larger products in particular, we therefore recommend that you do not dispose of the packaging immediately.

We pack our products as securely as possible – however, despite good packaging, transport damage cannot always be avoided.

If you notice damaged packaging upon delivery, please do not refuse acceptance. Experience shows that we can help you better if the goods remain with you and we can exchange them directly. Once the product is back at the shipping company, the process often becomes much more complicated.

You have a 3-year warranty with us and are of course entitled to a faultless product.

Please check the goods carefully after unpacking – often only the packaging is damaged, but the contents are undamaged.

If you notice any damage, please document it with photos and send us a short email. This will allow us to assess the case quickly and offer you a suitable solution immediately.

Every package is carefully checked for completeness before shipping – however, in rare cases, parts may be missing. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Simply contact us by phone or email and describe which parts are missing. Each assembly instruction includes a parts list with letter designations for all components and screws. Please let us know which items on the parts list are affected and how many are missing – we have most replacement parts in stock and can send them to you quickly by mail.

The assembly instructions are included with your delivery and are also linked on the respective product page.

If you notice any damage, please take photos and send us an email. This will enable us to assess the situation better and offer you a suitable solution quickly – with the aim, of course, of ensuring that you are satisfied in the end.
