Our photographers - HEJM

Hejm Interior Fotografie

A passion for photography brought Corina and Phillip together. Inspired by design, architecture, and documentation, they founded HEJM in 2014.

From Tape Recorder to Camera

Corina, originally from Venezuela, picked up her tape recorder at the age of four. Telling stories, recording music, and documenting life fascinated her even back then. Years later, this passion transferred to photography. Capturing, abstracting, transforming the outside world and evoking emotions in others – that's how she found her way to photography.

Web 2.0 as a Springboard

In a blog in the late 2000s, Phillip wrote about artists and designers, and also documented the lives of friends in their homes. Through these and other photographic contributions, he was increasingly hired for assignments. His interest in photography, however, was already sparked in school. “[Y]ou’re not the best at math, but you have talent in photography” – these words from his math teacher motivated him to continue pursuing photography after school. For Phillip, it remains important to unlock creative potential with his photography and develop himself further, instead of comparing himself to others.

Together at Home

Driven by their shared passion for design and architecture, Corina and Phillip founded HEJM in 2014. The name comes from the Esperanto language hejme and means “home” or “at home”. Their ideas for new assignments are drawn directly from everyday life or from spontaneous moments. You can discover them in every detail if you look closely.

Simple, Functional, High Quality

These are the three features that matter most to Corina and Phillip when it comes to furnishing their home. In everyday life with three children, furniture has to adapt and be flexible, without becoming complicated. Their favorite piece from ekomia is the Form F extending table. Clean lines shape the aesthetic they love, and thanks to the two hidden extensions, there’s enough space for special occasions.
