    Cold Foam Mattresses – Ergonomic Comfort for a Pleasant Sleep

    A cold foam mattress offers you high lying comfort, good point elasticity, and a breathable structure. Thanks to its flexible nature, it adapts to your body shape with point elasticity – suitable for side sleepers, back sleepers, and couples.

    What are cold foam mattresses?

    A cold foam mattress consists of polyurethane foam that is foamed at relatively low temperatures – hence the name "cold foam". The open-pored foam supports air circulation and enables even pressure distribution. 7-zone cold foam mattresses offer zoned body support – from head to toe – and can contribute to an ergonomic sleeping position.

    Due to its low weight, a cold foam mattress is easy to turn or transport. Many models are available as a reversible mattress with two firmness levels (e.g., H2 and H3), allowing you to choose the level of firmness. Cold foam is also frequently chosen as a partner mattress in large widths, as movements on the opposite side are often transmitted less significantly.

    Cold foam mattresses are available in common sizes such as 90x200, 120x200, 140x200, 160x200, 180x200, and 200x200 cm, as well as in extra length with 220 cm.

    What should I consider when buying a cold foam mattress?

    When buying a cold foam mattress, pay attention to the density (Raumgewicht, RG). A higher density generally indicates a higher material density and can contribute to a longer service life. A density of around 40 kg/m³ or more is often classified as a solid version. The firmness level also plays an important role: H2 is usually suitable for lighter individuals or for a softer lying sensation, while H3 is chosen for heavier individuals or a preference for a firmer surface.

    What should I consider during use?

    To support even wear, it is recommended to regularly flip or rotate the mattress and to air it out well. For reversible mattresses with two different firmness sides, it is usually sufficient to rotate and air them regularly. A removable, washable cover made from breathable materials such as organic cotton can make cleaning easier.
